Recycle that cycle? Final year Hallam University Product Design student, Phil Bridge, created a working prototype of a bicycle made almost entirely from cardboard. The design was displayed at the 'Creative Spark' exhibition at Sheffield Hallam Student Union building. The prototype uses a honeycomb type of cardboard for strength and rigidity. Phil estimates the manufacturing cost to be around £15 each. But why cardboard? The young designer wanted to devalue the cost of a bike in repesponse to the number of thefts cyclist face. View more pictures in our PRESS Gallery.
